I was, once upon a time
Enchanted. By the Ocean.
Enchanted by its vastness
The unending waters
The unreachable horizon
The soft, hard sand
And the limitless skies.

I was, once upon a time
Intimidated. By the Ocean.
Intimidated by its powerful waves
The fearsome roar
The electric currents
The irresistible force of the pull
The scorching, angry sun.

I am, today,
Master of the Ocean.
Ruler of the vast expanse
Controller of the currents
Owner of the sands.
The waves rise in salute
Then kiss my feet.
